Open Data Cabildo de Tenerife Project Diary October

The Open Data portal of the Cabildo de Tenerife continues to report on the latest datasets available and those on which it is working, for subsequent publication. The main objective of the portal datos.tenerife.es is to disclose and disseminate as many datasets as possible.

The last days are approaching to participate in the I Open Data Contest: Cases of Reuse, whose call for entries will be open until October 23. Proposals must be submitted through the Cabildo's electronic headquarters before the deadline.

New sets: Energy in photovoltaic plants and Power generation infrastructures

The latest published sets are based on wind and photovoltaic energy production data from facilities managed by the Instituto Tecnológico y de Energías Renovables (ITER), the body that provides this data for publication.

The set of energy produced and consumed in photovoltaic plants and wind farms in Tenerife shows monthly data of energy production and consumption by facility (farm or plant).

On the other hand, the set of energy generation infrastructures in Tenerife includes the location of photovoltaic plants and wind farms on the map of Tenerife.

Under study: Cold portions, Tenerife Sports, and Exotic plant species

The Open Data Portal continues to make progress in the analysis of data on cold portions, which determines the cold portions necessary to grow certain crops at the location of AgroCabildo weather stations. This information is especially useful for the agricultural sector.

Regarding sports, Datos Abiertos Tenerife will work on the opening of new datasets of the Sports Service of the Cabildo(deportestenerife.es). In addition, the development of the dataset on activities managed by the Auditorio de Tenerife continues.

In the environment category, progress continues to be made in the development of two datasets related to the plant world: that of invasive exotic species detected in the Teno Rural Park and the guide to the use of plant species in Tenerife.

Training

On the other hand, regarding the portal's training actions, it is currently possible to view and download the tutorial on how to use the portal, which includes the keys to get the most out of open data.

In addition, the article on automatic updating of data depending on its publication on the portal has also been published , in order to have an updated history.

The Open Data Portal of the Cabildo de Tenerife is committed to the mission of offering citizens access to a wide catalog of datasets. This effort not only guarantees the availability of updated information, but also promotes the reuse of data to encourage the creation of new applications, services and innovative projects that contribute to the economic, social and environmental development of the island.
