Every year, World Open Data Day becomes a key date to promote the importance of transparency, data reuse and its impact on decision making and innovation. In 2025, the theme of the day is "Open Data to Tackle Polycrisis," putting the focus on the role of open data in addressing global challenges.

In February, the Cabildo de Tenerife's Open Data portal starts the year with new data sets, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and the reuse of public information. This effort allows individuals, companies and organizations to access updated resources, fostering the creation of new services and applications for the benefit of the community.

In December the Open Data portal continues to work on the development of new datasets, which can be freely consulted, downloaded, used and redistributed by any person or company; in its commitment to increase the resources available on the portal and contribute to the generation of new services and applications.

The main objective of the Open Data portal promoted by the Cabildo de Tenerife is to make data freely available to the public, accessible and reusable. However, the benefits and transforming potential of "open data" require the evaluation of certain parameters to establish the real impact of these initiatives.

This November, in Datos Abiertos Cabildo de Tenerife we will analyze the 25 reuse proposals received in the I Open Data Contest: Reuse Ideas.
