March 2023: publication of the portal

With this first post we inaugurate our diary, a space in which we will show all the progress, milestones and objectives of this project developed in the Cabildo of Tenerife.

After many months working on its design, development and implementation, on March 25, 2023 the new Open Data portal of the Cabildo de Tenerife is published. An achievement that represents the first step to meet our goal of creating a community and an ecosystem in Tenerife around open data: companies, researchers, entrepreneurs....

During these months, the work has focused on everything related to the development of the portal before its publication: necessary documentation, portal contents and developments to be made, etc. Among the tasks carried out during this period, it is worth mentioning the one related to the available data. In this sense, in addition to migrating the data sets existing so far in the previous Tenerifedata.com portal, work has been done on the opening of 5 new data sets: meteorological data, dossier data, influx in recreational areas and camping areas, reservations of activities in nature and catalog of procedures.

This brings added value to reusers, as it incorporates new data to consult, download and reuse in relation to the previous open data portal.

With the implementation of the portal, the communication actions to be carried out to disseminate and publicize the portal take on special relevance. During this period, the actions to be carried out have been defined, as well as the events to be held, which will be published soon on the Agenda page.
