The portal datos.gob echoes the impulse to open data from the Cabildo of Tenerife

The portal datos.gob.es, for the reuse of public information, linked to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, has echoed the ambitious open data project that has been promoted by the Cabildo of Tenerife, through the portal datos.tenerife.es.

In a publication made this March, he highlighted the portal's strategy of "facilitating access to information, promoting the reuse of data and generating social and economic value for the island", through an initiative that "transcends the mere publication of information".

Thus, he emphasized that "through its open data portal, the Cabildo not only promotes transparency and accountability, but also promotes innovation in areas as diverse as tourism, transport and rural areas".

The news of datos.gob emphasizes that the Cabildo's portal publishes "datasets" of the entire public sector of the island, including the island's municipalities, and with main objectives such as "promoting the internal and external culture of data use", increasing transparency and accountability through data", generating wealth in society through the reuse of information".

In the portal datos.tenerife.es you can find open data sets of tourism, transport, culture and leisure and rural environment, among others, and agencies such as Intercity Transport of Tenerife (TITSA), Island Water Council of Tenerife (CIATF), Metropolitano de Tenerife, Island Society for the Promotion of Persons with Disabilities (SINPROMI), Technological Institute of Renewable Energy (ITER), Institute of Social and Socio-sanitary Care ( IASS) and Agrocabildo.

In this way, through the publication of datos.gob, it is possible to know which are the most downloaded and significant data sets, among which are those linked to the weather station networks; those of influx of recreational areas; the indicators of economic development and tourist occupation, the prices of fruit and vegetable products in Mercatenerife or the datasets of the origin-destination matrix of public transport.

Likewise, different use cases collected in the portal are presented, such as the development of an urban management plan, a weather data forecasting project and a Power BI dashboard that shows the daily traffic intensity in a station of the island.

Next steps include the use of tools such as Google Analytics and the implementation of a virtual assistant with generative AI.

In short, one more collaboration that contributes to the dissemination of the ambitious project launched by the Cabildo de Tenerife through the portal datos.tenerife.es and its clear commitment to transparency.
