
April 2025: Winners of the 1st Open Data Contest and new data openings in the portal
In April, the winners of the I Open Data Contest: Ideas for Reuse will be announced. They are, in first place, Roberto Chávez with Cultiva+Tenerife. Precision Agriculture Based on Open Data for Sustainability and Productivity; in second place, Maite Ugalde with an idea based on the Analysis of trends and models related to Tourism in Tenerife and, in third place, Tomas Bagües with the proposal GeoBusiness: Optimize the location of your business.
In the social networks of the Cabildo de Tenerife it is possible to follow the progress of the contest and the portal.
- It is possible to consult the set of Activity Managed by the Auditorio de Tenerife, which is beginning to publish data on the attendance of activities, concerts, congresses and shows managed by the Auditorio de Tenerife.
- Census of sports facilities on the island of Tenerife is another of the data compilations for the month of April, with information on the existing sports facilities on the island.
- Regarding economy and employment, the monthly bulletins of January and February 2025 are available so far, with socioeconomic indicators in the whole: Main Indicators of Economic Development of the island of Tenerife.
- Another of the bulletins that can already be consulted and downloaded in PDF are the Tourism Statistics of the island of Tenerife. These statistics refer to tourists staying in establishments on the island of Tenerife.
Next sets: Exotic species, daily traffic intensity and accessibility map.
Some data sets that are still under development will also be published in the open data portal of the Cabildo de Tenerife, such as the invasive exotic species detected in the Teno Rural Park; daily traffic intensity in the road network of the island of Tenerife by gauging stations or data on the level of accessibility of places of public use of interest in Tenerife, as part of the update of the Accessibility Map of the island.

In order to increase the catalog of data available on the portal, some of the data under study are those of the Tenerife Rural Foundation, energy production by photovoltaic plants and the state of the BALTEN reservoirs.
The Open Data portal continues to report on the latest developments of the project, from the opening of new datasets that offer the possibility of consultation, download and reuse to the dissemination of the same, in order to contribute to the reuse of data to encourage the creation of new applications, services and projects.
